Photographing my friend Mikey was something I’d wanted to do for a long time. He’s always had this mystique about him, a kind of quiet energy that pulls you in. There’s something almost shamanic about the way he carries himself, like he’s tapped into some deeper knowledge. His presence reminds me of a magician, a mage from another time. My goal for this shoot was to capture that side of him —the mystic, the enigma— and let his unique energy shine through the lens.
